Construction Management Associate - Multiple Sites

Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Director of Construction in the management of active construction projects and preconstruction services of upcoming projects.  Projects will include new ground up construction, construction renovations, capital expenditure projects on existing properties and minor projects as may be necessary.  Properties will be multi-family and some commercial.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employee’s duties shall be accomplished in consultation with his/her supervisor, and in some cases may require supervisor approval.  Duties and responsibilities may be shared with other employees, and may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Developing project scope, design development and review
  • Establishing the budget
  • Determining delivery methods
  • Selecting contractors
  • Managing construction documents
  • Contract administration
  • Scheduling
  • Budget oversight and cost control
  • Quality control
  • Project site inspections
  • Contractor management
  • Project close-out
  • Office and fieldwork will be required
  • Maintaining professional communication with the company development team, divisional managers, property maintenance, architects, engineers, designers, and third-party owners.

  • 4-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, similar field, or work experience equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications; architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing.
  • Knowledge of construction management operations and procedures, project size to $20,000,000.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups; Owner, contractors, trade & subcontractors, architects & engineers, consultants, clients, tenants, government agencies.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work within a group setting, act individually where appropriate, ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, site to final completion and occupancy.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, application, and inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and AIA Contract Documents and payments procedures.
  • Ability to work in an immediate need situation as may be required.
