Real Estate Property Accountant - West Hartford, CT

This position is responsible for full general ledger accounting, financial reporting (internal and external), bank account reconciliations, monthly and year end preparation/analysis of financial statements, production of audit work papers, real estate and personal property filings, and special projects for a portfolio of multifamily and/or commercial sites. Assistance with cash management, annual budget preparation and cash flow projection/analysis, as required. Duties also include interaction with external accountants in connection with independent audits and tax return preparation, third-party owners and lender representatives.

The right candidate must possess strong property accounting, organizational and communication skills and be results oriented, a self-starter, team player with a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work independently. Must be detail oriented, able to multitask, able to identify and confidently communicate issues in a concise and timely manner. Must be able to problem solve and implement solutions. Strong accounting process skills are required.

BS in Accounting is required. Experience with real estate accounting software systems as well as Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Familiarity with HUD/CHFA/other regulatory agencies and Yardi software experience is preferred. Public accounting and accounts payable experience is a plus.
